Perm and Minsk exchanged experiences in the library sphere

In order to develop and strengthen cultural ties and exchange professional experience between Perm and Minsk, the third joint online meeting was held in the A.S. Pushkin Central City Library. It began with greetings from Svetlana Khaerzamanova, Director of the Perm Association of Municipal Libraries, and Elena Matveeva, Director of the Centralized System of State Public Libraries of Minsk, who noted the importance of exchanging experiences in patriotic education of children and youth ahead of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War by friendly nations.

Then, library specialists shared their professional developments in the field of using modern forms and methods of patriotic education, organizing cultural, creative and research events dedicated to the memory of individuals and the events of the Great Patriotic War. Thus, the employees of Perm libraries were greatly interested in the "Victory Streets" project of Minsk residents and the "Gates of Memory" project of the Children's Library No. 3 named after A. Gaidar in Minsk.

During professional communication with colleagues from Minsk, agreements were reached on the mutual exchange of collections of local history publications, their transfer to library funds and subsequent presentation. They also discussed the possibility of participation of library representatives in events dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory, in particular, in the library practical conference "Cities of Labor and Victory", which will be held on July 1-2 in Perm.
